Honors Legal Scholars Program
Get a head start on Law School
The Florida State University College of Law has joined forces with the Honors Program to create a professional-track program available, on a highly competitive basis, to a small number of motivated Honors students. Both incoming first year students and current Honors students may apply. Honors Legal Scholars benefit from becoming a part of the Florida State Law community while earning their bachelor's degrees.
Honors Legal Scholars gain experience and knowledge through volunteer and educational activities as well as social gatherings. They are given pre-professional advising, meet with professors, observe classes, and shadow current students in the College of Law. Students in the Honors Legal Scholar program become eligible for automatic admission to the Florida State University College of Law upon completion of the stated prerequisites of the program.
In order to apply to this competitive program, students must either 1) be admitted as freshmen to both Florida State University and the Honors Program OR 2) be currently enrolled Honors students in good standing. There is a specific timeline students must follow in order to apply.
Students seeking freshman admission:
Interested students must receive both 1) first-time in college freshman admission to Florida State University AND 2) an invitation to the University Honors Program; both university admission and the honors invitation must be achieved by specific dates.
Applicants for freshman admission must apply for general university admission by October 15, 2012 to receive timely notification of admission to the university and a timely invitation to the University Honors Program.
Students who qualify for an invitation to the Honors Program during the appropriate timeframe will be provided with further information and access to the Honors Legal Scholars Program application.
Current Honors students:
Current Honors students may apply for admission to the Honors Legal Scholars Program. They are provided access to the application (when available) through the Honors Program @ FSU Blackboard organization.
