Honors All-Stars

Students in FSU’s Honors Program are engaged in a wide range of activities at the intellectual frontiers of the natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, humanities, and the arts. These Honors All-Stars, as extraordinary as they are, provide only a glimpse of how FSU Honors Program students are producing new knowledge that is changing our world.


			Traci Brimhall As a creative writing major, Traci's goal was to approach topics from an atypical angle and present them in a unique way. 			Loran Clay Loran is studying whether or not different techniques used to evaluate tongue function elicit accurate measures of tongue endurance and strength. READ MORE						Benjamin Cole In his Honors Thesis research, psychology major Benjamin Cole studied how well law enforcement officers and drivers understand each other during vehicle searches. 			Laura Graham Laura is currently working on an honors thesis that is sixth in a series of studies attempting to test the theory that self-control is a limited resource. 			Hilary Jonczak Hilary is examining the relationship between the leadership of Nazi Germany and the German medical community during World War II. READ MORE						Aaron Kline Aaron is examining different methods of creating maps of the human brain surface with the goal of being able to identify locations of neural processing more accurately. 			Christina Leggett Christina used techniques of nuclear chemistry to look for ways to make uranium and plutonium safer to handle. 			Louis Macias Louis examined how the racial attitudes of students evolve during their time in college. READ MORE						Miguel Mercado-ochoa A Biological Sciences major, Miguel is learning about the role of a protein (Glutamate Receptor Subunit 2) in a rat’s sense of smell. READ MORE



			Joshua Mikel Joshua is overseeing the completion, production, and performance of his one act play entitled “Quentin G.” under the direction of Professor Mark Medoff. 			Anthony Priestas Anthony is studying a group of clay minerals from the Victoria Land Basin of Antarctica that are formed in the sediment column hundreds of meters below the seafloor. 			Sharon Audra Stant She spent two months at sea with the Ocean Drilling Program gathering data about the sea bed 500 km off Newfoundland.
