CAMPUS AND COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE RESOURCES

The Honors Program is here to help you locate services on campus or within the Tallahassee community, should you need some assistance during the semester with insufficient income, unexpected medical bills, job loss, housing or food insecurity, physical or mental challenges, domestic abuse, difficulty keeping up with classes, need accommodations, or are looking for more scholarship opportunities.

CASE MANAGEMENT

Case Management provides an array of services to students in academic or personal crisis: short-term counseling, emotional support, student advocacy, referrals to campus & community resources, academic support, consultation with faculty/staff to support student in distress. [Fall 2021] If you have need of a laptop, you may request one for use during the semester by emailing Case Management. Location: University Center A, Suite 4128, 850-644-9555.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT PANTRY

The Food for Thought Pantry is for any currently enrolled FSU student, who is facing food insecurity. No appointment necessary. No paperwork to complete. You will be provided a large bag to fill with items you need. If the door is locked, the attendant at the front desk of the Department of Student Support & Transitions would be happy to unlock it for you. Location: University Center, Building A, Suite 4148, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.. 850-644-2428.

COUNSELING & PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

Staffed by licensed professionals, students may schedule one-on-one, couples sessions, groups sessions and walk-in appointments for urgent situations. There are no out-of-pocket expenses for any visit for currently enrolled students. Location: 2nd Floor of the Askew Student Life Center, 942 Learning Way. Appointments and walk-ins available Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., 850-644-TALK (8255).

FSU4U SCHOLARSHIPS

Florida State University awards numerous scholarships each academic year through the fundraising efforts of the Florida State University Foundation and the generosity of private donors. Scholarship award amounts vary and are often awarded based on several factors including, but not limited to, demonstrated academic success, donor-stipulated criteria and financial need. If students have questions concerning these opportunities, they should contact the academic college or unit who administers the opportunity. A complete list of contacts can be found here.

OFFICE OF ACCESSIBILITY SERVICES

The Office of Accessibility Services (OAS) is committed to ensuring universal access for FSU students by providing academic, housing and dining accommodations, as well as testing support, assistive technologies, and space for students to feel part of the FSU community. UNCONQUERED SCHOLARS PROGRAM

The Unconquered Scholars Program provides an array of support services promoting overall success to youth who experienced foster care, homelessness, relative care, or ward of the State status. FSU is committed to meeting the unique needs of Unconquered students so they experience the long-term professional and personal benefits associated with educational attainment. OFFICE OF FINANCIAL AID

The Office of Financial Aid assists students experiencing changes to their financial circumstances due to death of parent/spouse, divorce of parents/spouse, emergency medical/dental expenses not covered by insurance, loss of job, or a significant change in income due to COVID-19. Forms, including Special Circumstance Forms may need to be completed. Location: University Center A, Suite 4400. Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Call 850-644-0539 to be routed to the appropriate person for assistance or email financialaid@fsu.edu.

PROFESSINOLE CLOTHING CLOSET

The ProfessioNole Clothing provides FSU students with access to free professional attire for career fairs, interviews, conferences, and the workplace. Their goal is to help students look their best and make a good impression! Students must schedule an appointment via NoleNetwork. Appointments are available, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and must be made 48 hours in advance. Location: Dunlap Success Center (Career Center), 100 South Woodward Avenue, 3rd floor. VICTIM ADVOCATE PROGRAM

A confidential advocate is on call 24 hours a day to respond to FSU students, faculty, and staff who are victimized anywhere or at any time, as well as any other person victimized on campus, at an FSU sponsored event, or by an FSU community member. Services include emotional support, instructor notification, referrals, crisis intervention and assistance in student conduct, legal, and medical matter. 2-1-1 BIG BEND

2-1-1 Big Bend provides emotional support, crisis counseling, suicide prevention, information and referrals. There are no eligibility criteria and 2-1-1's services are free. 2-1-1 Big Bend helps you navigate community services available in a non-judgmental manner. Someone is available to speak with you 24/7 at 2-1-1- or 850-617-6333.

Second Harvest has a large network of food pantries throughout 11 counties in the Big Bend, including Leon County. REFUGE HOUSE
