Julia Pennington

In her role as an Assistant Director, Julia runs the first-year colloquium course, including training future peer-instructors. She also serves as the staff advisor for the Honors Student Association and advises Honors students. She hopes to empower students to grow as leaders, become engaged members of the honors community, and make the most of all the opportunities FSU and the Honors Program have to offer.

Originally from Greenwood, Indiana, Julia attended Purdue University, where she received a B.A. in Law and Society and a B.S. in Brain and Behavioral Sciences. She graduated with honors through the John Martinson Honors College (2014). She then earned her J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School (2021) and joined the Honors Program at FSU as an assistant director in April 2022. In her free time, Julia can be found teaching her husband how to play tennis, cheering on Purdue basketball, trying to reach her yearly reading goal, and taking too many photos of her dog, Franklin.
