Each year, first-year University Honors students are enrolled in the Honors Colloquium. The colloquium provides a common intellectual experience for new honors students and is grounded in the dimensions of social, intellectual, and personal development and introduces students to the culture and opportunities of a modern research university. Each course meeting is led by an upper-class honors student trained on effective college teaching strategies who serves as a mentor, instructor, and resource to the first-year students. The Honors Program is proud to name 40 University Honors students as Honors Colloquium Leaders for the Fall 2021 semester.
Applications for Fall 2022 Honors Colloquium Leaders are now closed. If you have any questions about the application process, please contact Jeff Badger at jbadger@fsu.edu.
"This past semester I had the privilege of serving as an Honors Colloquium Leader. This opportunity taught me so much about myself, peer leadership, and creating a welcoming and communicative classroom environment. As a Colloquium leader, I helped to foster discussions on personal, social, and intellectual growth, and met with each of my students in one-on-one mentorship meetings to help tailor my weekly lesson plans to their specific goals. I am so excited to continue to develop the Honors Program through this position next fall!" - Maria Guidubaldi, Fall 2021
