From Safe Spaces to Shared Spaces
rethinking inclusion to catalyze civic innovation
Inam sakinah, FSU ALUM AND "POWER OF WE" FOUNDER
Inam Sakinah came to Florida State University in the fall of 2015. She was a Presidential Scholar, an Honors student, a UROP student and Florida Gubinatorial Scholar.
As a freshman, she founded the "Power of We" student initiative at FSU. Inam's idea was to bring together students from various backgrounds in a shared space to interact with one another and break down barriers between different student groups. She researched how to conduct productive student meetings that include open dialog, good listening skills and reception to critique.
During her speaking engagement with select Honors Experience students, she spoke on the topic of rethinking inclusion to catalyze civic innovation.
