Transfer Students

Students that have been admitted to FSU as lower-division transfer students may apply to the University Honors Program for the Fall or Spring term that they have been admitted to FSU.
Applications are assessed on cumulative and term GPAs, college course rigor, and the quality of written application essays regarding the program.

Eligibility

  • Lower-division student.
  • Admitted to FSU for Fall or Spring semester.
  • 3.75 GPA or higher from previous institution.
  • Application must be submitted before starting classes at FSU.

 

Program Requirements

  • Maintain a 3.2 FSU GPA while in the program.
  • Successfully complete HUM2944 in the first semester.
  • Meet with an Honors Advisor during the first semester
  • Complete the Honors Program Graduation Requirements.
    • Up to six Honors credit hours from the previous institution may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to count toward the Honors requirements. 

 

 Application Timeline
Fall 2024 Transfer Application Deadline - August 1, 2024.
Spring 2025 Transfer Application Deadline - December 1, 2024.

Admissions decisions will be released on the Friday before drop/add of the semester they have applied to start the program.

Upper-Division transfer students or students who have completed the AA may apply for the 
Honors in the Major program. 
Students who participated in the Spring Transfer Pathway from Tallahassee Community College may apply via the 
lateral admission process.
