Honors Colloquium Leaders


Colloquium leaders serve as mentors, instructors, and resources for new students. Colloquium leaders hold class sessions addressing intellectual and personal development, and work to help build a community for incoming students in the Honors Program.   


Eligibility:

  • Be in good standing with the FSU Honors Program with an FSU GPA of 3.2 or higher 

  • Successfully complete Honors Colloquium by the end of Fall 2025

  • Successfully complete at least one Honors Signature Course by the end of Spring 2026

  • Enter 3rd or 4th year at FSU in 2026-2027 academic year (not applicable to transfer admitted honors students)

  • Complete 10 Honors Points before Fall 2026 (consideration can be made for laterally admitted and lower division transfer honors student applicants entering their 3rd year) 


Position Requirements:

  • Attend a for-credit weekly training course in Spring semester before leadership appointment. Section assignments will be scheduled once selections are made.  

    • Re-applying current HCLs are not required to re-enroll in the training course but will be expected to attend monthly events.

  • Attend HCL monthly community building/professional development events in Spring semester before leadership appointment.

  • Attend additional trainings and small group HCL sessions to be held during semester of leadership appointment(s).

  • Create activities for weekly class sessions in Summer B and/or Fall.

  • Facilitate weekly class sessions in Summer B and/or Fall.

  • Grade course assignments and provide substantive feedback.

  • Mentor a course section of ~15 students in classroom and one-on-one settings.
